Creating a Class (Free or ClassOS Pro)

• Register for a Knowledgehook teacher account before creating a class.

• Have your class information ready, including the classroom name, grade or grades, and class language.

• If you use Google Classroom, you can import a class instead of entering students manually.

• Plan for a typical class size of approximately 30–40 students. Larger classes may cause reports and page loading to become unreliable.

After you register or sign in to your Knowledgehook teacher account, open the Classes page and select Add Class.

Enter the classroom name, select the grade or grades, and choose the class language. You can also choose to import a class from Google Classroom.

• A class can have only one base language.

• The base language cannot be changed after the class is created, so select it carefully.

• If you teach different grades or languages, create separate classes for them.

Select Add Student and choose who will create the student accounts. Add students by copying and pasting a list or entering each student's name individually.

Select Generate Passwords to create a password list for your students.

Download the student login instructions and share them with your class. Each class receives a unique, system-generated class code. The code remains the same for the class and cannot be changed.

Students will:

1. Go to joinkh.com.

2. Enter the class code.

3. Enter their first name and the first initial of their last name.

4. Choose a password.

5. Choose an avatar.

If you have a ClassOS Pro code, enter it to access Teacher Support Documents and other ClassOS Pro features. If you do not have a code, you can continue using the free version and learn more about ClassOS Pro and School Premium access.

After your class is created, you can browse and bookmark content, add students, and assign learning activities. You may see a sample Mission to demonstrate reports and an Assess Prior Knowledge Mission if you selected it during class creation.

• Assign an assessment as a Mission (ClassOS Pro only).

• Assign an assessment as a GameShow.

💡 Pro Tip: Choose the class language and grade carefully when creating the class. This helps you assign the right content to your students.

⚠️ Class size: Keep classes to a typical size of 30–40 students. Larger classes may cause loading problems and reports may not load correctly.

⚠️ Class ended: Classes created before August may belong to the previous school year and will not roll over. If a class is marked Class Ended, create a new class for the current school year.

💡 Home class: A Home class may appear when a student creates an account before joining your class. It provides additional practice and does not prevent the student from completing work in your class. Students can switch classes from the Classes menu.

Q: Can I change the class language after creating the class?

A: No. A class can have only one base language, and it cannot be changed after creation. Create a separate class if you need a different base language. You can still assign French content from the Activity section, and students can change their interface language in their class settings.

Q: What should I do if my class is marked “Class Ended”?

A: Classes from the previous school year do not roll over. Create a new class for the current school year.

Q: Why does a student see a Home class?

A: A Home class appears when a student creates an account before joining your class. It is an additional practice area and should not affect the student's access to your class.

Q: Can I add a co-teacher?

A: Yes. Co-teachers can be added when the class is upgraded to ClassOS Pro. See the guide to adding a co-teacher for more information.

Q: How do students join the class?

A: Give students the class code and login instructions. Students go to joinkh.com, enter the class code, provide their name, choose a password, and select an avatar.
