There are a number of question types that Knowledgehook offers when making content for an Activity. The question can be changed to any of these types by clicking the question drop down when editing a question:
The Question Types currently available are:
- Multiple Choice
-
Free Form - Integer With Free Form answers, students must type their answers in a text box.
The Integer type allows positive and negative whole numbers -
Free Form - Real Number With Free Form answers, students must type their answers in a text box.
The Real Number type allows positive and negative whole numbers and decimals - With Free Form answers, students must type their answers in a text box.
The Text type allows any input, numeric, alphabetical, or symbols.
When changing to a non-multiple choice question type, the editor will automatically assist by describing the question type and alerting you when you need to change the format of your answers.
One other option available for questions is to set the question as a survey. Meaning that the question won't be counted for marks but the responses will still be saved for later. This could come in handy when asking an general question or if you just like the idea of kids being able to work out the problem without worrying about being wrong or right. To switch, click the advanced settings button to bring up the Survey/Normal question toggle and click Survey.
Now that you've change it over to a Survey question, students completing will receive a "Thank you for Answering" pop up rather than one that tells them if they were right or wrong.
If you want to change the format of the questions so that kids can really answer however they like, make it Free Form - Text rather than multiple choice! NOTE: Questions can be both Survey AND Free Form Questions.
