To all of our valued teachers, we are aware of the changing circumstances and measures being taken to ensure the health and safety of all students and staff during the COVID-19 pandemic.
At Knowledgehook, we are working hard to ensure that we are able to support you and your students so there is as little disruption to your classes as possible.
We have listed a few ways Knowledgehook can support your teaching while students are not in the classroom.
Checking for Student Understanding in Math Online..
Knowledgehook can work just as well in an online setting as it can in your physical classroom.
You can check students for understanding before, during and after math lessons by having them participate from their own device at home while you are online.
If you are running a GameShow, make sure you share your screen so students can see the GameShow screen that they are used to seeing in class.
You can still assign Missions as you normally would to provide students with purposeful practice, to check for individual understanding, and to ensure ongoing engagement with the learning goals you are covering.
For additional engagement and communication, try inviting parents.
Capturing Student Thinking Online...
If students are being given work to do while outside of class, whether through other digital tools or through paper and pencil. You can use Knowledgehook to do a quick check for understanding.
You can use our Capture Student Thinking feature to gather and track student work to see how students are thinking through each problem.
Assigning Work to Students Online...
If you are unable to teach, you can still assign Missions to students that they can work on at home. Students can work on assigned Missions at their own pace and you can choose to differentiate assignments for each student as needed.
Students can use any type of device (desktops, laptops, tablets or smartphones) at home to access assignments.
Supporting Parents Online...
Communicate with parents how students can continue their work. Share login information with parents to help them easily access Knowledgehook for their child.
Unlocking access to all grade content will allow students to work through more practice questions at home.
