As children learn on Knowledgehook, they earn rewards for play time which they can use in various games at home on Knowledgehook (please visit the Student Engagement Center to learn more (https://www.knowledgehook.com/engagement-center). If parents wish to limit or control access to the education-connected gameplay available after school on Knowledgehook, they can easily do so in their Parent account. This includes deciding whether their child has any access to either of the two available game modes, or setting a daily time limit for any play time on Knowledgehook at home.
If you have linked up with your child's account on Knowledgehook, you can control this access on your Account Settings page. For more information on how to connect your children to your parent account, please visit the following article: Knowledgehook Parents App
Once you are logged into your Parent account, click your name in the top right for a drop down menu. Click on "Account Settings" which is the first choice in that menu.
Child Game Settings
On the Child Game Settings page, you will see your child's name, a slider to set their daily playtime limit, and individual options for each game mode. If you have multiple children, you can switch between their settings by selecting their name from the drop-down menu at the top of the page.
Game Engagement Time
This setting allows you to control how long your child can play Knowledgehook games outside of school hours.
The slider lets you set a daily playtime limit between 15 minutes and 2 hours, or no time restriction at all. Once the set limit is reached, they will be unable to continue playing Knowledgehook games, and notify your child that they have reached their daily playtime limit.
Individual Game Settings
Knowledgehook currently offers two game modes for students: Adventure, which are action-adventure games and are more challenging for players, and Casual Game, a more easy-going gameplay experience that's easy for almost anyone to pick up and play. To adjust complete access for a specific game, click the pencil icon next to the game’s name.
A grade-level limit or an Always Disable button controls access to each game. With the grade-level limit option, access is only granted when your child is enrolled in a class at or above the selected grade level. Alternatively, the Always Disable option completely blocks access to the game at all school grade levels.
To allow your child to access a game, please select a grade level equal to or lower than the grade they are assigned to in their current class. Once you've made your selection from the menu, click Save to apply the setting.
