Knowledgehook’s Small Group Classes are live and interactive (Zoom) classes with a goal of teaching and inspiring young minds. We offer classes across various subjects such as math, language, coding, French and more! The classes last between 45-60 minutes, and there are approximately 8 students per class, all from the comfort of your home!
What can my child expect from a Small Group Class?
Children will learn and develop skills as they relate to specific concepts in the curriculum. Knowledgehook instructors encourage and support student learning through interactive, engaging and collaborative instruction all within a small group setting. Your child can expect:
-
- An engaging, comprehensive lesson covering the specified course content.
- An instructor with expertise in subject matter and in online instruction.
- For math-related classes: engaging learning tools with some gaming elements.
- A fun, inviting and collaborative learning environment that focuses on student participation and inclusion.
- A safe space to develop their skills and confidence.
Who are your instructors?
The vast majority of our instructors are certified teachers with various educational backgrounds and instructing experiences. You can learn more about the specific instructor for your chosen class on the registration page of each class.
What age group do Knowledgehook's Small Group Classes serve?
Knowledgehook's Small Group Classes are available for students from Kindergarten to Grade 10, with each class offering a “suggested age range” for which the class is developmentally curated.
Can I enroll my child in a class if my child is outside of the suggested age range?
Yes! While the “age range” suggestion acts as a guide for parents and students based on curriculum expectations, you can enroll your child in any available class. It is highly recommended to stay within the suggested age range to ensure optimal learning experience for all students involved.
How can I decide which class is right for my child?
Ask your child what topics they are interested in. You may also wish to communicate with your child's teacher to discuss their strengths and their areas of improvement that may be supported by Knowledgehook Small Group Classes.
My child wants to continue learning outside of the Small Group Class. What resources do you have available for extended learning?
You may access our Math Huddles to practice skills outside of the Small Group Classes. Click here to find out more about Math Huddles.
Can I make a class topic request?
You can make a class topic request by clicking here. We are actively looking at parent and student recommendations and look forward to hearing how we can continue to help your child love to learn!
